One of those Wow moments...and speaking in support of galleries

This week we drove over to Broadway in the Cotswolds to deliver new work to The Stratford Gallery for them to take to The Affordable Art Fair in Battersea, London.

We took the wrapped work in and then had a look around the gallery.

Howard and Emma have beautifully hung my current work on the first floor gallery and yes, I did walk in and go WOW !

As an artist, most, if not all of us work on our own. We see the work day in and day out as it gets towards a show or being delivery to a gallery. We get very close to it, knowing all the bits we like, together with all the bits that we feel we could have done differently. It then gets packed up and delivered....and then we visit when the work is hung...and oh my goodness.

I don't think I will ever get over being amazed at how the work looks in a gallery. I have been known to cry on more than one occasion! Not because the work is amazing, but because I realise my time has made all this and it really was worth it.

I am a gallery artist through and through. This is what a gallery does beat and this is how the gallery earns their commission. Apart from anything else you are paying for their skill in promoting you, for supporting you, for the footfall, their hard won customer base and for their expertise.

I wouldn't have it any other way.
